Women’s Tennis Drops Another

Women's tennis lost another match, this time at Albany 7-0 in its match this past weekend, a disappointment following its loss to Quinnipiac Feb. 21. 
The Lady Rams could not take the doubles point.
They opened with freshman Taylor Holt and sophomore Bethany Boyle winning over Albany's Aubrey Brooks and Caitlin Crowley 9-8 (7-5 in the tiebreaker).
In the second match, Albany won took the first match 8-6 and the third match 8-4.
In the singles matches, Fordham was completely swept by Albany in all six matches. 
In first singles, sophomore Sarah Tremaine fell to Albany's Livia Gherman 6-2, 6-2.
In second singles Laine Mackey of Albany won over senior Martina Featherston 6-2, 6-3, with identical scores in third singles in Albany's favor between Boyle and Crowley. 
Albany won fourth singles 6-1, 6-2 between Albany's Aubrey Brooks and Fordham's Holt.
Meanwhile, Albany took fifth singles 6-1, 6-0 between Sarah Iannone and junior Brittany Russell.
Then, in sixth singles, the Lady Rams lost 6-0, 6-4 between Melissa Coughlin and Fordham sophomore Jane Carroll.
With the loss, Fordham falls to 0-7, only winning one set in the spring season (at Vassar on Feb. 13).
Despite the loss, the Lady Rams are looking forward to their next match at St. Peter's March 10 at 3 p.m. St. Peter's lost its last match 5-2 against Niagra.
