Every spring brings Commuter Week, a week long celebration hosted by the Commuting Students Association (CSA). CSA is the student-run commuter organization on campus.  According to its mission statement, the group works "to provide a single voice for commuting students, to develop and implement policies, services and programs, and to represent commuting students' particular needs and concerns."  Commuter Week serves as an oppurtunity for commuters to socialize with one another and with Rose Hill residents.

This year's theme was "Commuter Week: The Series" and incorporated many television programs in the themes of the events. Commuter Week kicked off last Saturday with the annual Residence Hall Association vs. CSA Softball Game, in an ESPN themed play-off.  The opponents met on Murphy Field for a friendly game.  Athletics continued on Sunday as commuters took part in the Relay For Life event, forming their own Relay For Life team.  As students walked, the money they raised benefited cancer patients in the NYC area.

On Monday, CSA turned McGinley Lawn into a children's playground with the Real World/Road Rules Challenge, renting a blowup obstacle course, complete with slides and hills. As students showed off their athletic skills, others picked up free Commuter Week T-shirts and delighted in free food catered by Tino's.

The theme of Tuesday afternoon's event was Extreme Makeover, and the McGinley Lawn was filled with professional make-up artists. A henna tattoo artist was on hand, and students also engaged in Build-A-New Student Center.  Using Legos, students designed a new student center.  On Tuesday evening the fun continued with another event, Have Your Cake & Eat It Too.  Gathering in O'Keefe Commons, students took layers of cake and decorated them with frosting, sprinkles and other goodies.  A prize was given for the best cake builder.  After the contest, all the participants enjoyed their edible creations.

The festivities continued on Wednesday with an official ghost tour of the campus, titled, Are YourAfraid of Fordham?  The event started at the Ramskellar, where students enjoyed food and learned about the haunted history of the Rose Hill campus.  Then, led by a ghost tour specialist, students took a tour of the campus and saw the campus' haunted sites first hand.
