Charlie Rose, acclaimed television journalist, will deliver the 2008 commencement address this upcoming May. Rose received both a B.A. in history and a law degree from Duke University. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and has received honorary doctorates of law from C.W. Post College and the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. Praised as "one of America's premier interviewers," Rose anchored "CBS News Nightwatch," the network's first late-night news program, and presently hosts a nightly PBS program that bears his name. He has had the opportunity to interview many prominent political and celebrity figures, including Nelson Mandela, Mikhail Gorbachev, Toni Morrison, Bill Gates, Tom Hanks, Julia Roberts and Bruce Springsteen. He is the recipient of the George Peabody Broadcasting Award, the Emmy Award and The Cable ACE Award.
