There were political discussions, people lip-synching to "It's Raining Men," bands in the Ramskellar, and comedians. Such a weekend on the Fordham campus could only mean one thing: Campus Activities Board Fall Fest was back to entertain the masses. <br />
<br />
"CAB's goal with Fall Fest was to build community within the student body and to make students familiar with one another," Regina Fetterolf, assistant director of programming in the Office of Student Leadership and Community Development, said.

Patrick Reilly and the Cardinal Newman Society have overstepped their bounds. As an organization that purports to value the importance of Catholic education, their recent foray into challenging the moral integrity of Fordham Law School has demonstrated that they should avoid involvement in anything more nuanced than the broad side of a barn, much less academia.

<br />
Runners certainly do not have to run 26.2 miles in a single session to stay in shape, and the chance of victory against thousands of people is, while not impossible, much slimmer than against several people in a typical track-and-field event. Nonetheless, marathon runners have their own reasons for undertaking the intensive training regimen required for a marathon race, and eventually participating in some of the biggest marathon events such as the Boston and New York City Marathons.

"If you fight terror with terror, how do you know which is which?"<br />
 Philip Gourevitch poses this question at the conclusion of his new book, Standard Operating Procedure, and on Sept. 25, he also posed it to an audience of over 120 Fordham students. His question concerns why American soldiers stationed at the Iraqi prison Abu Ghraib in 2004 chose to strip down Iraq prisoners and coerce them into various inappropriate sexual positions and garments resembling those of the Ku Klux Klan.

Sunday's "CollegeHumor Live Tour" was one of the final events of Fordham's Fall Fest. Keating 3rd auditorium turned into a comedy club as comedian Dan Levy, who served as emcee of the tour, kicked off the show with a short standup routine of his own. Levy's jokes were hit-or-miss, but he clearly knew how to get the audience ready for what was to come.

<br />
Critics of television already exist in unprecedented numbers, but their claims - once regarded as the irrational rantings of the perceived intellectual elite - now threaten to become more valid as the brains behind small-screen programs forego creativity in favor of blatant shock value.
